this is Joe Dub, Young Joseph, White Gangster, Guiseppe Bellagio and a slew of other names to go with him. he invented a few things, was the founding member of a few other things and does lots of cool shit to this day. among other innovations, he casually invented the abbreviation of crevice which evolved to the number one slang word of any briefcase rocker: CREV. here he is pricing expensive vehicles and chancing upon a piece of his legacy.

this is the nonce, which is composed of nouka basetype AKA sach and yusef afloat. why this isn’t in my favorite videos section is because these dudes innovated crev before it was even a word. them, project blowed, global phlowtations, hobo junction and living legends laid the archetype for what west coast underground rap should be and the hip-hop quadrant of crev wave IS. sach is our western guru and sef is our patron saint.

Copped this gem for a buck when Wherehouse Music was going out of business. Never knew who Big was referencing before that. If you never heard it it’s pretty much a dude rapping in a John Wayne impression about positivity, motivation, dancing, rapping and trail mix as you can see in the track titles. Had to blow up the anti-drug logo, dahaaaaa! I wanna make tees.

This is BlaQKout! and the group consists of DJ Quik and Kurupt of the Dogg Pound. These dudes are both ridiculously slept-on masters and innovators of their craft and have made one of the tightest songs in present-day rap. After hearing this, I decided to gracefully bow out of all the token dance/rock/hybrid-hop scenes and make records for the streets and the people who live in them. Quik boasts of using a SP-1200 on all the production and I can almost bet you any amount of money that Kurupt blacked out and freestyled this whole album. He and Will.I.Am from Black Eyed Peas are two of the best freestyle rappers on the entire west coast and definitely in the top 20 on some rap juggernaut shit. Press play and get familiar with the future of the west……

so i went to write a lil post about last nite and it ended up being hella verbose, so i dumped it on the OG huevos blog, Life Is Like My Cock On Chocolates. but here is an excerpt, click on it to get the whole scoop:

i need to find a place outside the building to handle this but i am right in the middle of downtown GSO. i am feeling kinda edgy from my red bull. i leave the building bound for some empty courtyard i saw out the window and immediately hone in on the crev spot. i creep behind some electrical boxes or whatever, and based on the all the cig butts and candy wrappers i am not the first person to hang back here. it’s totally the type of place i would piss, i am seriously one of the best public urinators that i know. anyways, i expect to see someone smoking crack and/or drinking listerine back there, but no one pops up and asks me for a favor.

also, on the drive down i heard this. first time. took me a second to figure out it was “roy” and not “roll” or some other shit. this is straight out of South Carolina. someone please give me a beat like this so i can do “crank dat mustache” …. debmaster, are you reading this? really doe, this concept is getting ridiculous. really doe, i WILL do a song like this.

me and the homey george brazil are going to be cold kickin it live on WUAG 103.1 in Greensboro, NC …. this sunday night from 7-10 PM (that’s eastern time, geography majors). if you didn’t know, me and GB are globetrotting party rockers and have played with lots of people that you read about on blogs. we like KP3s and computers. we got our own crew called The BFFs and sometimes we eat brunch. what?
